Looe is a picturesque working fishing port in Cornwall, and is famous for its fresh fish caught on day boats and exported around the world.
Situated in the South East corner of Cornwall, Looe is in fact a town of two halves divided by a tidal river which separates bustling East Looe from its quieter neighbour of West Looe (where we are situated.) A beautiful and centuries old seven arch bridge spans the river estuary and joins East and West Looe.
As well as a variety of shops and restaurants, East Looe is also home to the fish market, the beach, and the life boat station, whilst a short hop on the river ferry will take you to West Looe with its’ collection of individual shops, pubs and cafes. Just off West Looe, can be seen the beautiful and unspoilt St. Georges Island or Looe Island as it is commonly called.
Being located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Looe offers many breathtaking walks along the cliff paths that form part of the South West Coastal Path. Looe is renowned for coastal activities such as shark fishing, sailing, kayaking, and bird watching, and is a great place to visit all year round, and is the perfect location for exploring the rest of Cornwall.
